Five for Friday and a Giveaway!

It's summer y'all.  If it weren't for linky parties, I wouldn't even know what day it is. :)  Thank goodness for linky parties.

It's FRIDAY... So you know what that means!

It's been one week since the last school bell rang.  On Friday, we had our kindergarten graduation.  It's such a bittersweet day.  I can't really put into words how great this year was.  Every year is great, but this year was just special.  I literally feel like I've lost something with the end of this school year and these 22 kiddos moving onto first grade.  They will do AMAZING things as they grow.  I am blessed to have been their first teacher.

This picture captures our last few moments as a class.  I absolutely adore everything about it.

These kiddos will always have a special place in my heart.  They are wonderful!

We went out in style for our end of the year party.  First, we made shirts.  I simply drew an owl pattern (freehand), they painted the outline, and after that dried, we painted handprints on for wings.  Some of my amazing parent volunteers glued wiggly eyes on and drew brown beaks.  I think they are precious!

During the party, we had an autograph session where the kids signed each shirt.  Then, we passed out individual student awards, ate snacks, and watched our 20 minute slideshow.  I sobbed.  Parents sobbed.  Kids looked at us like we were nuts.

I really couldn't resist photobombing these kiddos. :)

Have you checked out my friends Jena and Lindsey's linky party?  If not, you definitely should!

Look at what they did this week:

That's not a pinned picture, folks.  Those are their filing cabinets from their classrooms!  After seeing their creations today in real life, I immediately went on Amazon and bought some aqua chevron contact paper.  I may get questioned as to why I am buying so much purple spray paint at the Wal-Mart tomorrow, but I'll tell them it's for school, and it will be okay.

Now to just arrange a babysitter so I can get this done for myself!

Make sure to check out their linky party.  I even contributed this week!

It might be summer, but that doesn't mean I haven't been hard at work on some new creations for next school year.  I'm working on creating all new classroom materials to coordinate with my color scheme, and it just so happens that my friend Jena (Yes, the same one from above... And yes, you can stand in awe at her craftiness) has created digital papers that go with my color scheme PERFECTLY.  That's what friends are for, right?

I stayed up far too late last night creating these little gems:

I am officially in love with a number line.

Grab a copy in my TPT store!

How about a book study, y'all?  I'm currently participating in a book study on the book Guided Math by Lacey Sammons with The Primary Gal.  You can check out my posts here and here.

Basically, this book is going to change my approach to math instruction when we go back to school in the fall.  It's wonderful.

I have decided that I am going to host my very own book study next month!

Anyone heard of this book???

Not only will my math instruction be changing, but my vocabulary instruction will be as well.  This book has made me wake up and smell the roses in the fact that my vocabulary instruction is BO-RING!  These authors have such a fun approach to teaching vocabulary.

Since we are all busy, I have decided to make this book study short and sweet.  If you would like to participate, you will simply link up the week of July 21st for a little vocabulary fun!  I already have some amazing giveaways to go along with this flash-study (is that a thing?), so make sure to mark your calendars.

Right now, I am giving away not one, but TWO copies of this book to make it easier for you to participate!  Simply enter below in Rafflecopter for your chance to win!
